Julia Newberry (Hotaling) Becker, June 25, 1880, in Prairie Home, Nebraska. She is the daughter of William VanBuren Hotaling and Margaret Ann (Thomas). On December 31, 1908, she married Harry James Becker in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the home of his sister Susan Amelia (Becker) Martin. Their first home was at 1729 Ryons, Lincoln where their three children (Harry James 1909-1975, Henrietta Margaret (1911-2008), and Richard Newberry (1914-1966) were born. They later moved to 2026 Sewell St., Lincoln, Nebraska. She was very active and a member of both First Methodist and Trinity Methodist churches in Lincoln. She died September 5, 1937, of cancer in a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.
