Caroline A "Carrie" Joy Morton
Aug. 9, 1833 -- Jan. 29, 1881
Daughter of Hiram & Caroline Hayden Joy, when Caroline's mother died, Hiram asked the David & Cynthia French family to raise Caroline, and she may have taken the last name French, tho she is a true Joy descendant.
Caroline died at Arbor Lodge, and was the mother of Joy, Paul, Mark and Carl Morton. Son Paul is who took over the Morton Salt Co. Caroline married Julius Sterling Morton, October 30, 1854.
Julius Sterling Morton
April 22, 1832 -- April 27, 1902
Son of Julius Dewey & Emmeline Sterling Morton. J Sterling was the founding father of Arbor Lodge.
