Julia E. (Kress) Francis

Julia E. Kress, daughter of Henry and Mary Jane (Colbert) Kress, was the 7th child of 11 children and was born October 29, 1873 in Manchester, Ohio and departed this life on Friday September 29, 1939 in Sterling, Nebraska at the age of 65 years and 11 months. She grew up in Ohio. Sometime later she was united in marriage to William H. Lang on November 1, 1893 in Ohio. To this marriage one child, Mary Bee was born. On November 15, 1903 Mr. Lang departed this life and on May 31st 1905 Mrs. Lang was united in marriage to Nelson B. Francis, at West Union, Ohio. They then moved to Nebraska and settled on a farm north of Sterling, where they lived until the death of Nelson Francis on May 18, 1929. Julie Francis then moved to Sterling and occupied a new home which she had built. She was a faithful attendant and supporter of the Methodist Church.
