He married Mary Clifton Ewing on 24 February 1902, in Beatrice, Gage, Nebraska, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Seward, Nebraska, United States in 1885 and Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska, United States for about 20 years. He died in April 1946, in Sioux City, Woodbury, Iowa, United States, at the age of 66, and was buried in Utica, Seward, Nebraska, United States.
