SUTHERLAND-- Jessie V. Henderson, 82, died Thursday in a Sutherland nursing home. She was born Aug. 3, 1899, at Garfield, Neb.
Mrs. Henderson was born and raised in Logan County and was married to Murl Everett on April 7, 1920. She later married Ray Henderson on June 29, 1942. She had lived in several western states until 1981 when she moved to North Platte. Her husband Ray preceded her in death 1975.
Survivors include one son, Roland Everett of North Platte; one stepson, Harold Henderson of Xenia, Ohio; four daughters, Glenna (Mrs. Clifford) Losee of Hastings, Eloise (Mrs. Roger) Kerr of Des Moines, Iowa, Joy (Mrs. Leonard) Kramer of Stapleton; and Betty (Mrs. Steve) Ford of Sun Lakes Ariz.; one stepdaughter, Florence (Mrs. Melvin) Swan of Gothenburg; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Chappell Jerseyville, Ill; 24 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Adams and Swansn [sic] Chapel with the Rev. Robert Gelthorpe of the North Platte Baptist Church officiating. Cremation will follow services.
A memorial to the Nebraska Lung Association has been established.
