Hulda Mathilda NELSON

Lyons Cemetery
Burt County,
Nebraska

Funeral services for Mrs. August Nelson of Oakland, who died at her home on Osborne avenue last Thursday evening, were held at the home Monday afternoon. At the time of her passing Mrs. Nelson was 63 years, 9 months and 23 days of age.
Hulda Mathilda Nelson was born at Hjorted, Sweden, June 3, 1873. She came to America in 1879 in company with her parents, and the family settled in Nebraska.
On March 29, 1898, she was married to August Nelson at West Point, and the couple settled at Wausa. They moved to Lyons in 1915, to care for Mrs. Nelson's old and sick mother. Following the mother's death, Mrs. Nelson and her husband moved to Oakland in 1916, and lived here since.
During her life Mrs. Nelson was a healthy and industrious woman, but last fall her health failed. She was first cared for at her home and later at the local hospital, where she underwent an operation. Death occurred at her home.
Left to mourn her are her husband, August Nelson; one sister, Mrs. Annie Holsten, Minnesota; and three brothers, Herman Nelson, Rock Springs, Wyo., Charles Nelson, Wausa and Gust Nelson, Lyons.
Services at the home Monday were in charge of Rev. Carl O. Nelson, pastor of the Covenant Mission church. Anthon Anderson sang a solo and Mrs. Carl O. Nelson and Mr. Anderson sang a duet. Burial was made in the Lyons cemetery, with Palmquists in charge of arrangements.
