Headstone merely marked MOTHER. b. 23 Oct 1855 Denmark / d. 17 May 1895 Kearney County, Nebraska, USA. Christena (Knudsen) had a twin sister, and it is said that they each had firey red hair. She was the first wife of Niels Christian "Nels C." Sorensen, and is buried near him in Block E, Lot 7.
Together they were the parents of 4 children:

Morris Sorensen, Sr.
Anna Christina="Chrissy" (Sorensen)-Jorgensen.
Nels remarried to Mrs. Maren (Jensen)-Simonsen (2nd marriages for each)
and helped rear her 5 living children (out of 7):
Inger Marie="Mary" (Simonsen)-Thomsen;
Ane Marie="Anna" (Simonsen)-Nelson
2 children died in childhood during the flu epidemic.: Mariane and Jens jr.="Christian"
Katherine="Katie" (Simonsen)-Johnson
John Simon Simonsen
Peter C. Simonsen
Together, Nels and Maren were the parents of
Arthur Irvin Sorensen.
A case of HIS children, HER children, and THEIR child.
ALL of the above listed children would therefore be Arthur's half-siblings on both sides.
