Warren - Howard Cemetery
Madison County,
Nebraska

This cemetery is located North East of Tilden, NE. From the intersection of 536 Ave & 844 ½, go ¼ mile North on 536 Ave it is on a hill on the East side of the Road.
As the sign states it was founded in 1876 by T. N. Terry and was named the Warren Cemetery after the settlement named Warren which was 1/4 mile south and one mile east of this location. At one time there was a general store and a post office all of which is long gone. Sometime later the name was changed to the Howard Cemetery. There was a M.L Howard who owned the land around the cemetery in 1890. It went by the Howard name until sometime in the 1960's or there about when it was changed back to Warren. At some point in time people were moved from this cemetery to other cemeteries in the area, reason for the move is unknown. For about fifty years the cemetery was not cared for. About the time the name was changed back to Warren, the cemetery started being cared for and is still being cared for by Raymond Kary Larson of Norfolk, NE.
