Harvey Young Francis was born near Manchester, Ohio, Oct. 10, 1875. He came west with his parents in 1886, settling on a farm 4 miles north of Sterling, where he grew to young manhood. In the year 1897 he began work for the Burlington R.R. and continued to work in the capacity of station agent until Dec. 1926 when he retired. He was employed by the Burlington at Sterling, Tecumseh, Highland, Kans., Saltillo, Roca and Adams. He was united in marriage to Miss Dorothy Catchpole at Sterling, July 22, 1897. There was one son Lyle.
