Corporal Company G 20th Iowa Infantry as well as 2nd Lieutenant Company F 76th United States Colored Infantry and Lieutenant Company G 114th United States Colored Infantry. He is listed on the African American Civil War Memorial twice, on plaque C-83 with his service with the 76th and on plaque D-114 with his service with the 114th. He was killed in the Easter Tornado of 1913.
