Omaha Daily Bee, May 1, 1903:
The local lodge of Masons made arrangements yesterday for the funeral of R. C. Young, who died suddenly at his home Thursday morning. Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist church, Twenty-third and N streets on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. All members of Bee Hive lodge are requested to meet at Masonic hall at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in order to attend the funeral in a body.
The deceased was a prominent member of the Methodist church. On Sunday last he conducted a class and later occupied his usual position in the church choir. His illness came on suddenly and while everything possible was done for him by his physician it was evident from the commencement of the illness that he could not live.
For over a dozen years Mr. Young was employed by Swift and Company, the service being almost continuous. General regret is expressed at the sudden demise of a good citizen. Insurance in the sum of $5,000 is left to provide for the family.
