This is my Great Grandfather, born in Hannibal,New York Sept 2, 1845, died in Seward July 14, 1912. He married my Great Grandmother, Sarah C. Huffman, Sept 10, 1867 in Red Creek New York.She was born Jan 7, 1851 in Red Creek, NY and died Mar 22, 1939 in Seward. In 1869 they moved to Nebraska, settling on a homestead near Beaver Crossing, one of the first settlers in "N" precinct in Seward county.In 1886 they moved into Seward and took charge of the "Commercial Hotel". By 1898 with his health failing he was forced into early retirement and they built their last home in the north part of town. Near the M.E.Church that they had become active in. They had four children; E.W., my Grandfather, Emmet, who died as a child in an accident, Lela M., married B.Norval, and Maude A.
