A newly placed flat stone now marks the grave of a young child. The stone was put in place by a gift of Memorial Money from the Farnam Alumni.
Dorothy Virginia Gish
Dorothy Virginia, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Gish, passed into that better land of peaceful rest on Monday, Sept. 24, 1924, about 9:00 o’clock in the evening, after an illness of only six days, death being caused by cholera infantam.
Little Dorothy was born July 1st, 1921 and has always been a bright and happy little child, dearly loved by all who knew her. Her cheery little smiles and chatter will be missed by those to whom she was so precious. She leaves to mourn her loss, father, mother, and two brothers, Royal and Delbert, besides a host of other relatives.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. S. Satchel. Interment was made in the Farnam cemetery.
The Misses Ruth Carman, Faye Hudson, Thelma Kitchen and Hazel Goesch were the pall bearers. The casket was banked with beautiful flowers.
