Russell A. Morgan, 70, of Winnebago, NE passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his residence, while surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Russell was born on March 3, 1948 in Sioux City, IA, the son of Melvin and Frances (Nieman) Morgan. He graduated from Emerson Public School and served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969, earning 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for Valor. Russ worked for G.E. in Omaha before returning to the family farm, where he remained until his death. He was blessed with three sons.

He was a member of the Homer American Legion Post 97 and enjoyed farming and deer hunting, and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.

Survivors include the love of his life for 27 years, Bonnie Berg; sons, JJ (Tracie) Morgan, Matt (Tami) Morgan, and Luke (Erin) Morgan; grandchildren, Dillion (Nikki), Chace, Brice, Quinn, Nash, Kree, Hunter, Hudson, and Logan; his mother, Frances Morgan; sisters, Mary (Jerry) Walker and Velma (Dan) Lueders; brother-in-law, Wes Knecht; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Morgan; a grandson, Blaine; brother, Bill Morgan; and sister, Betty Knecht.
