Benjamin Wallace Mills Born in hill City SD son of Benjamin Franklin and Ethel Margaret (Gordon) Mills received his B. S. Degree from Chadron State College, Master’s from Purdue University. His careers included teaching, life insurance, and ranching with special interests in raising Herford cattle and Morgan horses.
Evelyn Elizabeth Sturgeon Daughter of Pioneers Elmer Ellsworth and Sarah Emma (Parrish) Sturgeon received her B.S. Degree from Chadron State College. She was a pianist teacher, traveler and historian. In the late 1950’s she taught English at Oglala Community High School in Pine Ridge SD. In appreciation for being a teacher, mentor and friend to children she was made an honorary member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and given the name Tipi Ska Win (Lady of the White Tipi).
