Della Bowman, 98, of Scribner, formerly of West Point, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Scribner.
She was born Sept. 11, 1912, to Herman and Bertha Prawitz, who lived on a farm in Neligh County until 1926, when the family moved to West Point. She was the seventh child of 10 born to Herman and Bertha, all of whom preceded her in death.
She attended high school in West Point, finishing the 11th grade, and married Frank White in 1929. Survivors from their marriage are Neva (Philip) Hefner of Chicago and Robert (Sandra) White of Lincoln. Other survivors are three grandchildren and five great-granddaughters. Frank died in 1965.
She was an active longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, participating in one of the women's circles, and helping with Bible school. She also was a member of two different women's card groups, until poor eye sight curtailed her participation. After Frank's death, Della worked for Wimmer's Meat Products for a number of years, until her retirement.
She married Glen Bowman in July 1979 and they were married for almost 10 years until Glen's death in 1989.
