Turnbow, Olympia, WA; 6 grandchildren; brother, Gerriet A., Omaha; sisters, Mrs. Mary Morgan, Omaha, Mrs. Velma Keast, Fresno, CA. Services Tuesday (April 2, 1963) 2:30 PM Crosby-Kunold Mortuary, 32nd Ave & Farnam St. Committal, Springgrove Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to First Church of Christ Scientist or John W. Janzan Memorial Fund for Joslyn.

Janzan Rites are Tuesday
Heart Attack is Fatal for Omaha Artist
Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm Tuesday at Crosby-Kunold Mortuary for John W. Janzan, 59, Omaha artist who died Friday. He suffered a heart attack and was taken by a rescue squad to a local hospital where he died. Mr.Janzan operated an art studio at 2901 Farnam Street. He painted the portraits of a number of prominent Omahans. One of his paintings is on display at the Sioux City (IA) Art Center. His works have won a number of awards. The most recent was his "Portrait of a Little Girl" entered in the Associated Artists of Omaha annual spring show at Joslyn Art Museum. Mr. Janzan is a former president of the local Associated Artists group. A show of his paintings had been scheduled to start Tuesday at the Willa Cather Library. The show still will be held, opening probably next week, according to his widow, Mrs.Wilna B. Janzan. Mr.Janzan attended public schools in Omaha and studied art at the Cincinnati (Ohio) Art Academy and several schools in New York City. Survivors, in addition to his wife: daughter, Mrs. A.W. Turnbow, Olympia, WA; six grandchildren, a brother and two sisters.
