Ted. "T.J." Placzek, 65, of David City, formerly of Columbus, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 at his sister's home in Columbus
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Christopher Grimmond officiating. Burial is at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Monday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with a 7:30 p.m. vigil service. Visitation continues Tuesday from 8-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Placzek was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Humphrey to Florian and Balbina (Zoucha)Placzek. He attended St. Anthony grade school.
He lived in Columbus and worked at Behlen Mfg. Co. before moving to David City in 1993. He enjoyed playing pool. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City.
Survivors include four sisters, Theresa (John) Dush and Minnie White of Columbus, Vi(Ralph) Kanitz of Tehachapi, CA, and Mary Ann (Clarence) Zelasney of La Vista; Three brothers, Ambrose,(Jo)of Columbus, Jim of Plattsmouth, and Florian, Jr.(Cathy) of Omaha, and one sister-in-law, Janie of Grandview, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bernard, Joe and Leo; and two sisters, Sally & Virginia. Memorials are suggested to donors choice.
