Mr. White was born in Tennessee. He was listed as an 'uncle' in the William R. Hicks household in the 1910 and 1920 Nebraska Federal Census. He served in the Grand Army of the Republic and had been a farmer prior to his enlistment in 1863. He was mustered out in 1865.
