Son of T.H. and Rose Barnes. First child born in Wilber, Neb Nov 29, 1873. Died by the hand of an assassin Jan 29, 1907. A martyr to duty and his mother's good name. The pain we have to buffer seems so broad set beside by side with this life's narrow span we need no greater evidence that God has some diviner destiny for man.
