Freedom was born 15 May 1842 in New Hampshire, and died 26 April 1911 ag Gables, Garfield County, Nebraska. Some records state he was born in 1844, but the 1842 date is correct. His brother Charles H. (buried near Freedom) was born in 1844, and they were not twins. Freedom married Sophia R. Hood 18 June 1872. They had three children: Oliver P. Cromwell (buried nearby), Freedom Franklin "Freed" Cromwell, and Charles W.
