Enlisted 22 June 1862, served the entire war, was captured twice, once at 7 Nov 1863 on the Rappahannoch. Was a Corporal at the time. Was exchanged 10 March 1864 promoted to Sergant. Was captured at the end at Farmville, Va during the retreat to Appomatox. Was released after taking the oath of Allegiance 26 June 1865. Was from Burk County, North Carolina. Described in military record 1865 as 5'8", drk hair and eyes, drk complexion. From military record was one fine soldier!
