The Mirage Flats Cemetery Association was organized in 1888 and the first burial was at that time. The cemetery is located 14 miles south of Hay Springs, Nebraska, via Highway 87 and one mile west of the Highway. That is one mile south of St Peter’s Lutheran Church and one mile west.
Part of Section 16, Township 29, Range 46 of 6th Principle Meridian.
“Water for a Thirsty Land,” by Norma Shirck, 1980, is an An excellent source of information about the Cemetery and the members of the Danish Community that came to the Mirage Flats area
