Flag Butte Cemetery is on private land. Please inquire locally for permission to visit the site.
Location: A few miles west of Chadron go 7.7 miles south on Deadhorse Road to the former Flag Butte School House and one mile west on Flag Butte Road. From this point the cemetery is seven tenths of a mile from the road.
GPS Reading: North 42 degrees, 42.415 minuest; West 103 degrees, 06.269 minutes.
North East 1/4 of Section 31 of Township 32 North and Range 49 West of the 6th Principle Meredian.
The clumps of irises, which bloom each spring after all these years, appear to be the locations of graves, including the two clumps, each of which has one of the two stones currently present in this cemetery.
