The following information comes from a Crawford, Nebraska, genealogist.
John Jefferson Harvey, who was born 1 April 1852 and died 19 October 1932, was the first Chief of Police in Crawford, Nebraska. His parents were John H. and Eliza A. Markland Harvey and he married Lillie Dale Phelps on 27 April 1876. His burial site is Block N, Lot 18, Space 4.
A comment:
On Thursday, February 22, 2007, Nebraska Educational Television broadcast a program called, “The Antique Road Show.” On that program a guest presented a revolver originally owned by a J.J. Harvey, first Chief of Police in Crawford, Nebraska. The program host appraised the value of the revolver at $25,000.
