Henrietta Rohde
Wife of August Rhode
December 16, 1834 – August 21, 1900

Pierce County Call, Pierce, Nebraska; Friday, August 24, 1900
Rohde – At her home in Pierce, Tuesday, August 21, 1900, Mrs. Heneretta (sic) Rhode, wife of August Rhode, aged 64 years, 8 months and 5 days.

Deceased had been failing in health for over a year and her death was not unexpected. Mrs. Rhode was beloved by all her friends and acquaintances for her loving disposition and gracious and charitable spirit. She was a sincere and conscientious follower of the Great Master, a faithful wife and loving mother. Born in Brandenburg, Germany, she came to America in 1855, residing first in Wisconsin. Thirty years ago she came to Nebraska and has made this county her home the most of that time. Her husband, one son, Herman, and two daughters – Mrs. Jas. Colson of this county and Mrs. Warwick Guy of Tennessee, survive her. One son, Paul, died in Tennessee four years ago. She also has a brother living near Hadar and two sisters, one near Norfolk and one in Wisconsin. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church at this place Wednesday afternoon, Rev. H. Pieper officiating, after which the remains were interred in the Koehler cemetery east of town.
