William VanBuren Hotaling was born January 31, 1850, in Kingston,Ulster, New York. On October 3, 1870, he married Margaret Ann Thomas in the Rondout Methodist Chruch, Rondout, Ulster,New York. He later moved to Jersey City, New Jersey. At one time he and his brother operated a ferry on the Hudson River. He was a Methodist Circuit Riding Preacher and rode the circuit out of Prairie Home, Lancaster, Nebraska, through Western Nebraska. He died October 9, 1900, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He is my Great Grandfather.
