Overview & History *CUMING CITY

Cuming City Cemetery
Washington County,
Nebraska

What remains of the cemetery itself is way up on top of the hill, and is about a quarter mile hike. Once there you have a fantastic view of all directions, the City of Blair to the SE, the Blair Country Club, and a lot of beautiful scenery. The stones that are still in place are overgrown by the natural prairie grass, and are scattered all over (most were moved). I'm sure I missed some that have fallen over and were hidden in the knee to waist length grass. Some of the other photos identified with an * show different views from the top of the hill. A sign at the gate mentions that the burials are recorded in Book 25, page 285 of the Deed Records, which I assume can be viewed at the courthouse.
