TENA E. (FOSS) ADEN
MOTHER
Born 9 May 1890
Died Feb 10, 1936
-----------------
A patient sufferer for many months found relief in death Monday afternoon when Mrs. Henry Aden entered her final rest. Tina Elizabeth Fass, daughter of Claus Fass and his wife Tina, nee Eilers, was born near Sterling on May 9, 1890, and two weeks later was baptized by Rev. J. Wolff. She attended the country schools northwest of Sterling, and then after receiving the necessary instruction in the Christian Faith made public confession and was confirmed by Rev. E. Schroeder on Palm Sunday 1905. On Feb 21st, 1911 she was united in marriage to Henry Aden of Sterling. To their union two sons were born. The family lived on a farm in this community until they came to Sterling in Feb. 1931.
The treacherous ailment which caused untimely death of Mrs. Aden began more than two years ago. Most of this time she has been bedfast. In the early summer of last year she spent 46 days in an Omaha Hospital. But the best medical skill and tenderest nursing, especially on the part of her husband, could not bring relief. She bore her long sickness with christian patience and fortitude and never complained, but was always most grateful for any kindness shown her. More and more she committed herself to the care of her God. To the prayer "Though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of death I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me" she gave a firm assent on Sunday afternoon during one of her last conscious moments. Her age was 45 years, nine months, and 1 day. She is survivied by her husband and two sons, Lorin and Carroll, and her aged mother, Mrs. Tina Fass, by her three brothers John, Theodore and Ed Fass and two sisters Mrs. C. J. Mack and Mrs. G. J. Agena.
Funeral services will be at St. John's Lutheran church Thursday at 1:30 with Rev. Decker officiating. Interment on the family lot at the Lutheran Cemetery.
