James L. and May McAllister moved
from Dunbar, Nebraska, and home-
steaded two miles north on the
east side of the road in the spring
of 1886. They raised three children:
Leona who never married; Ruth
who married Alvah Minton, and
James A. "Burt" who married Lucille
Minton July 4, 1917. They raised
four children: Marguerite, James L.,
Elsie and David.
The ranch totaling over 700 acres
was operated by family members
until 1956, then sold at
auction May 4, 1984.
In memory of our ancestors
